3-D prototyping for community initiatives

How can 3-D prototyping be used to create products to benefit the community?

Project Description: This project is to challenge students to think creatively to undertake market research to understand the types of products that can be developed for individuals in need. The students will build upon the data that was developed during a previous CityLAB project in Fall 2025. Students will undertake research on the potential products that may be beneficial for social need and determine how these products can be produced using additive manufacturing. Future projects would involve next steps towards production through collaboration with the local public 3D printing community to manufacture the selected products and partnering with community organizations to determine the approach to distribute the products to those in need.
