Traffic Calming in Ancaster’s Maywood

WHAT SOLUTIONS MIGHT SIMULTANEOUSLY IMPROVE TRAFFIC FLOW AND ADDRESS RESIDENTS’ CONCERNS ABOUT STREET SAFETY IN ANCASTER’S MAYWOOD?

Project Description: Congestion at Ancaster’s Rousseau-Wilson intersection prompts drivers to shortcut through Academy, Lodor and Church side-streets, especially at rush hour. Available data shows no traffic incidents, but residents continue to voice safety concerns. Students could review traffic patterns in this area and investigate or propose solutions. Methods could include collecting traffic data, interviewing residents and business owners, and/or conducting a feasibility study of proposed solutions.
