What are ways to encourage and enhance support for the City of Hamilton’s United Way fundraising initiatives?
Project Description: In Fall 2025, a CityLAB project was undertaken to review new and exciting ways to engage with new and existing staff to help boost the City’s fundraising initiatives for the United Way. As one of the ideas proposed through the student project, the City’s United Way Steering Committee is interested in further developing the idea of creating an Ambassador program to encourage support for the City's United Way fundraising initiatives. This challenge involves reviewing the potential structure for the ambassadors program, identify how ambassadors can promote participation in campaigns, and act as liaisons for the United Way Steering Committee. Potential items that can be considered include training, communication tactics, and ongoing support. The long-term goal is to create a sustainable and impactful program that will support the City’s United Way fundraising initiatives.
