How satisfied are post-secondary students with the municipal election experience?
Project Description: This project will be conducted in partnership with Elections Hamilton and aims to evaluate the voting experience of post-secondary students casting ballots at campus polling locations for City of Hamilton municipal elections.
Based on the approach used in Elections Canada's voter experience surveys, the research team will undertake a Campus Voter Experience Survey at polling stations at McMaster, Mohawk College, and Redeemer University. The survey will examine awareness of election information, experiences at the polling station, perceptions of accessibility and convenience, and overall satisfaction with the voting process. The project aims to identify opportunities to strengthen voter engagement and improve the electoral experience for post-secondary student voters.
