Project Description: This project explores the requirements for building and managing Artificial Intelligence (AI) datacenters. The research shall explore how AI datacenters should be constructed, including resource requirements such as equipment, software, costs, environmental impact, data sovereignty, and how next-generation security technologies, including quantum cryptography, can ensure robust protection of data. The project shall review third-party hosting options, comparing providers to analyze advantages and disadvantages. Information shall also be collected on potential funding sources such as grants from higher levels of government or other investment opportunities. The City is interested in collecting information for a feasibility study that shall assess technical, economic, and legal aspects of AI datacentres.
