How can the City improve the operation of Committee of Adjustment through improved public education and engagement?
Project Description: The City of Hamilton’s Committee of Adjustment handles planning applications for minor variance (i.e. minor zone change) and consent (e.g. land severance). There is significant public interest with the Committee of Adjustment activities as often it results in new development in existing neighbourhoods. However, there is generally lack of knowledge about the Committee of Adjustment and how it functions. This project shall gather information on potential methods to introduce new outreach-education opportunities to have improved public participation with the Committee of Adjustment.
