Enhancing WiFi at HPL

Assess and provide a recommendation to enhance Wi-Fi coverage and user experience across all sites of the Hamilton Public Library.

Project Description: The scope of this challenge is to:

  • Analyze HPL Guest Wi-Fi coverage across all HPL public spaces

  • Analyze UX using Guest Wi-Fi and accessing the internet.

  • Provide Suggestions to improve GUEST WIFI UX & coverage.

  • Provide Recommendation on Wireless Access Solution that would enhance coverage and UX.

  • Check & Report Wi-Fi Internet Speed and any other connectivity issues.

  • Provide the optimal configuration for the wireless solution on a per-building basis.

    Challenges with WIFI:

  • Customers need to Submit ā€œ Agree T&Cā€ every time they connect.

  • Not Enough Coverage across all public spaces.

  • Session Timeout

  • Not Much Stats or Usage reports are available.

  • Not Flexible to provide separate wifi access (Internet Only) to external users at HPL for a set duration

Deliverables:  Primary Research (ie. conducting surveys and/or collecting data), Design, provide reports with their findings and recommendations.
